Revitalize Your Wardrobe with Eco-Friendly Mending Transfers

Bring new life to your cherished garments with our eco-friendly mending transfers from Approved Textiles. Our sustainable mending transfers are meticulously crafted to honor the art of repair while championing eco-friendly, sustainable fashion. You can easily perform visible mending using innovative wood pulp sticker transfers—a modern, DIY textile repair technique that transforms damaged clothing into unique, artful pieces. Embrace sustainable textile repair and reduce waste by simply adhering the transfer to your fabric, stitching along the clear, precise pattern with a constant running stitch, and rinsing away the residue to reveal a beautifully renewed textile.

At Approved Textiles, every mend is a bold statement in sustainable fashion. Join the movement of eco-friendly mending and sustainable DIY repair that celebrates creativity while reducing environmental impact.

Each transfer cut-out is 4.25" by 5.5".

How to Use Your Visible Mending Transfers

Prep Your Fabric: Make sure your fabric is clean and dry before starting.

Choose Your Design: Pick one of the four designs from the set.

Apply the Transfer: Place the transfer design with the printed side facing the fabric. Gently press to activate the adhesive.

Stitch: Use a needle and thread to stitch along the design, following the printed lines. Feel free to add your own flair or skip areas you don't like.

Rinse and Reveal: Once your stitching is complete, rinse the fabric to remove the stabilizer. Your design will stay in place, and the stabilizer will wash away!

Selena Quintanilla-Pérez (1971–1995)
Selena was a Mexican-American singer, designer, and cultural icon whose music and style continue to move people across generations. Known as the Queen of Tejano, she wove together tradition and modernity, Spanish and English, softness and power—all with unmistakable grace and grit.

Selena designed many of her own performance looks, brought Latine culture to global stages, and opened her own clothing boutique in Corpus Christi before the age of 24. Her life was cut short, but her impact hasn’t faded. It lives on in the music, in the joy she shared so freely, and in the millions who still carry her spirit forward.

We’ve chosen to celebrate Selena’s legacy, work, life, and impact by creating a series of visible mending patterns inspired by key pieces of her visual world:

  • Her legendary purple outfit worn at the Houston Astrodome
  • A blooming rose, referencing “La Flor” and the rose long associated with her image
  • Her iconic bustier silhouette
  • The original logo from her fashion boutique in Corpus Christi
  • The stylized “S” from her design label—an emblem that became a signature

These stitches are a tribute—not just to Selena’s style, but to her belief in showing up boldly, loving loudly, and creating on your own terms.

A portion of each Selena mending transfer sold will be donated to Latina Fashionista, an organization empowering Latinas in the apparel industry by sharing information about education & leadership.

These mending patterns are a love letter to the artists who move us—not replicas, but stitches inspired by their spirit. We believe their genius extends far beyond the canvas, into the way we see, create, and repair the world around us. While our designs are original interpretations, they wouldn’t exist without the brilliance of Selena Quintanilla-Pérez and her enduring influence.
